Spencer Questioned in Bus Probe

Leader of the Opposition United Progressive Party, Baldwin Spencer was on Tuesday taken in for questioning by Lawmen in relation to the ongoing probe into the criminal conversion of buses donated by the South Korean Government.

Following an Audit into the operations of the Government’s overseas offices resulting from the major John Ashe Bribery Scandal, it was uncovered that the buses donated to the government were subsequently registered in the names of three former government ministers.

Spencer has been on record stating that the buses were acquired through the former Ambassador Dr John Ashe who finalised the arrangements.

The Former Prime Minister was advised by his legal council against giving an interview on the matter, but co-operated to make arrangements for a written statement to be submitted to Lawmen.

The Probe involves the Political Leader of the UPP Senator Harold Lovell, Former Education Minister Senator Jacqui Quinn and Former Minister of Public Works, Wilmouth Daniel
