Government to increase their shares in LIAT

Prime Minister Gaston Browne has announced that his government will be increasing its shares in LIAT.

PM Browne made the announcement while speaking on Radio programme this morning.

The Prime Minister said that despite the controversy surrounding the Airline and other major shareholders intention to relocate the base, he will continue to stand behind the notion that LIATs fleet base will remain in Antigua.

In 2015 PM Browne objected to a plan to re-base two LIAT aircraft from Antigua to Barbados after the motive of the move was linked to other shareholders intention of relocating LIAT’s fleet base.
