Repair work on the National School Meals Program is underway after heavy rains on Monday dealt a serious blow to operations at the facility.
During Yesterdays Cabinet Session a decision was made to immediately begin temporary repair work on the building which houses the programme.
According to the Government’s Spokesperson Lionel Hurst, provisions are being made to repair the major leak which developed in the roof forcing the closure of the facility for nearly over a week.
Hurst said that other major repairs to the facility will be made during summer vacation.
He indicated that Ministry officials are working diligently to ensure that the work is completed so the National School Meals Programme can be up and running by next week.
