Former head of the Leeward Islands Airline Pilots Association Michael Blackborne has questioned the competency of LIAT’s executives following the resignation of its CEO David Evans.
Blackborne said that despite the level of qualification that a CEO possesses without a competent team the airline is destined to fail.
He said that political interference has a lot to do with the process of hiring individuals which may not be the best move for the Airline.
According to former CEO of Caribbean star and Vice President of Porter Airlines in Canada Paul Maurara who also shared the same sentiment, said that that Political Influence is never good for business.
LIAT has been under enormous financial strain due to unsustainable losses and expenses and David Evans, a former British Airways executive whose resignation was accepted on April 13, 2016, was appointed in 2014 with hope that he could revive the financially troubled airline.
