The Venezuelan Miracle Mission Returns to Antigua and Barbuda

A team of Venezuelan doctors will be returning to Antigua and Barbuda to continue its successful Miracle Mission program which saw Hundreds of Antiguans and Barbudans benefiting from free eye care.

It was disclosed that at the end of the month of April, the team of doctors will return to the country to undertake eye surgery on 160 individuals who could not have been accommodated in the initial phase.

The Miracle Mission Program is  facilitated through partnership with the Venezuelan Government and saw doctors conducting Cataract and Pterygium screenings and surgeries.

The Chief of Staff indicated that the eye care initiative is the fruit of a strong diplomatic relationship with the Venezuelans, and noted that thought there are not set plans for a return trip, the Government will always be open to Venezuelan assistance.
