Tourism Minister the Hon Asot Michael will be chairing the 3rd OECS Council of Ministers on Tourism matters here in Antigua on Thursday.
The one-day meeting will be hosted under the theme OECS Economic Union Tourism driving growth and development.
Among the issues to be discussed are the facilitation of Ease of travel within the OECS, Joint promotion of the OECS region and the World Bank regional Tourism competitiveness project.
Tourism Minister Asot Michael said that discussions will also be held on the factors that affect the regions ability to be competitive.
Minister Michael said that so far there have been no reported cases of the ZIKA virus within Antigua and Barbuda or the region. He said that talks will be held and how the region can continue this trend and also address the implications of the ZIKA virus on the Tourism sector.
The 3rd OECS Council of Ministers meeting is schedule to be held at the Sandal Grande Resort and Spa.
