Farmers called upon to assist ZERO Hunger Initiative

Farmers within Antigua and Barbuda are being called on to lend their assistance in developing the Government’s ZERO Hunger Programme.

Addressing agriculture stakeholders on Tuesday, Junior Minister of Agriculture and Social Transformation Minister Samantha Marshall stated that without the assistance from farmers the ZERO Hunger initiative will not reach its full potential.

Minister Marshall while giving the rationale behind the programme designed to end poverty within the country, also made reference to the school meals program aimed at providing daily meals to students.

The Minister indicated that the first priority is to ensure that the partnership between the government and farmers is at a satisfactory level which will ensure that the program is successful.
