Two families have been rendered homeless after a fire destroyed 3 wooden structures in Crown Gardens on Wednesday afternoon.
Fire Officials report that they received word of the fire in the mid afternoon and immediately rushed to the scene. However, Fire Chief Elvis Weaver states that they were unable to subdue the blaze in time to save any of the three houses which went up in flames.
Fire men believe the fire to have originated in the largest of the three houses which is owned by one Nola Samuel, who lives with her son; however they still have not determined the cause of the blaze which was first spotted in one of the bedrooms.
The fire jumped from Samuel’s home to the two other buildings in the yard one occupied by Wayne Martin and the other which is said to have been a kitchen.
Fire Chief Weaver disclosed that all three buildings were uninsured and Fire fighters are working to determine the cause of the devastating blaze.
No injuries were reported from the fire, however, but Nola Samuel had to be rushed to the Mount St John’s Medical Centre after her blood pressure rose dramatically.
