Residents on the sister isle will now see a fresh face as a new Senator has been appointed to the Barbuda Council in the Upper House.
Miss Knacynta Nedd received her instrument of appointment on Tuesday at Government House from the Governor General, His Ex. Sir Rodney Williams.
According to the Minister of Barbuda Affairs Arthur Nibbs, this appointment is a natural stepping stone for Miss Nedd and will assist her in getting familiar with Parliament while developing her skills.
He said the appointed also demonstrates the commitment of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party to provide opportunities for women to play a meaningful role in the development of the country.
Miss Knacynta Nedd replaces Shenique Fortune, the former Barbuda Council in the Upper House who resigned due undisclosed health issues.
