A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed by the Ministry of Education Science and Technology and the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) which will see IT Certified Programs being offered to IT professionals within Antigua and Barbuda.
During the signing ceremony held this morning at the Antigua and Barbuda International Institute of Technology (ABIIT) the Education Minister the Hon. Michael Browne during his remarks gave details as to how the idea of this MOU came to fruition.
Minister Michael said that with the benefits that are sure to come from this agreement, the Ministry of Education and the government of Antigua and Barbuda welcome the MOU.
The Education Minister further thanked the Executive Director of the Institution and expressed his Ministry’s intention to continue to foster the relationship between the Illinois Institute of Technology and the Government of Antigua and Barbuda.
In response the Executive Director of the Illinois Institute of Technology Carl Vizza expressed his appreciation to the Education Ministry for making the first step in the establishment of the relationship which seeks to develop the human resource IT infrastructure within Antigua and Barbuda.
Seven employees from the Ministry of Education have already been selected as the first cohorts of a Master Certificate program in Cyber Security Technology commencing today through the Partnership between the Illinois Institute and the Education Ministry.
ZDK news understands that all the IT certified programs will be offered through the Antigua and Barbuda International Institute of Technology (ABIIT).
Meantime the Education Minister Michael Browne indicated that this initiative along with other programs expected to come on stream all leads up to the realization of the Antigua and Barbuda University of Antigua and Barbuda.
