The Minister of Health the Hon. Molwyn Joseph has announced that the second burn victim who received government’s assistance has died.
20year old Marlon Knowles received 2nd and 3rd degree burns to over 80 percent of his body last Saturday.
Minister Joseph indicated that Knowles succumbed to his injuries after he was transported to a burn centre in Cuba on Wednesday.
The Health Minister while expressing his condolences to the family said that the necessary measures will be put in place to ensure that the victim’s body returns to Antigua.
The Government said that despite the 2.5million dollar bill that was estimated by the Cuban doctor for Knowles treatment, the Gaston Browne administration did not see it as a burden as they are willing to lend their assistance to the residents when needed.
