The police have arrested and jointly charged two individuals for illegal possession of Firearm and ammunition.
35yrs old Rodney Gregory of Carlisle and 31yrs old Tahalia Dyer of Christian Street, Grays Farm are charged with Possession of one .25mm Firearm and Possession of three .25mm rounds of ammunition.
On Thursday, police officers attached to Coolidge Police Station executed a Search Warrant on Gregory’s home in Carlisle, and found a Raven .25 semi-automatic pistol with three matching rounds of ammunition.
The weapon was hidden among several pieces of clothing inside a clothes-closet. The police took possession of the firearm and ammunition, and both Dyer and Gregory were taken into custody and charged.
They are expected to make an appearance in the All Saints Magistrate’s Court (Today) Friday. To date, the police have removed a total of 6 firearms and approximately 60 rounds of ammunition from off the streets.
Meanwhile, the police have made another drug seizure after officers attached to the Narcotics Department went on a Drugs Eradication Exercise in Bendals and uprooted a total of 1,366 Cannabis Plants.
The plants were found growing in five separate cannabis plantations, among some bushes. The plants were taken to Police Headquarters, pending further investigations.
