A new Ombudsman has been appointed to represent Antigua and Barbuda.
According to the Government’s Spokesperson Lionel Hurst, Dr. Marion Blair, a former history teacher at the Princess Margaret is set to be appointed by way of resolution that is to be tabled in Parliament on Thursday.
Upon her appointment, Blair will be charged with representing the interests of the public by investigating and addressing complaints of maladministration or a violation of rights.
Attorney General Steadroy Benjamin is expected to make the official announcement in the House of Representatives tomorrow Thursday.
Antigua and Barbuda’s former ombudsman was another female in the person of Eusalyn Lewis.
