Prime Minister moves to remain in good standing with its Canadian counterparts

In an effort to preserve the attractiveness of Antigua and Barbuda’s travel document, Prime Minister Gaston Browne has written to the Canadian Prime Minister in order to ensure that the country continues to enjoy visa-free entry into Canada.

The previous Canadian Prime Minister had been sent a letter by Prime Minister Gaston Browne in 2014; and, he responded with assurances that have outlasted him since he left office

However the Government Chief of Staff Lionel Hurst told ZDK news that the letter will also ensure that no new requirement are imposed on Antiguans and Barbudans especially after a new Prime Minister took office in 2015.

Hurst noted that in addition to the letter the government had taken steps in the past to remain in good standing with our Canadian counterparts with the appointment of a Canadian to head the CIP program.
