Antigua and Barbuda has secured the 1st and 2nd runners up positions in the 2016 Leeward Island Calypso Competition.
Reigning Calypso Monarch Queen Thalia and 2015 Leeward Island Calypso Monarch De Bear secured the 1st and 2nd runners up positions respectively with Anguilla’s Roxanne Webster winning the title.
Both calypsonians ranked above 8 other contestants who vied for the crown with Queen Thalia performing “This Tenna Pan” and De Bear with his “Rivers of Tears” record.
Queen Thalia who returned to the country on Sunday recaptured the title as Antigua and Barbuda’s Calypso Monarch for the second time in her career last month.
The competition which was held on Saturday was the regions 20th Annual Leeward Islands Calypso Monarch Competition.
