A fire has destroyed a Syrian operated business in St. John’s moments ago.
The business, which sells carpets and rugs located adjacent to John F. Shouls on Long Street was completely destroyed to causes unknown.
ZDK News was on the scene at the time of the incident where a heavy police presence was seen blocking off nearby roads to prevent any mishaps. According to reports from the fire-fighters, they responded to a call around 9:30 am reporting that the business was engulfed in flames.
The owner could be seen visibly distraught as he watched helplessly as fire-fighters made a failed attempt to save his business.
Whether or not nearby businesses were affected by the flames has not been revealed and according to lawmen, investigations are ongoing.
