Prime Minister Gaston Browne speaking on behalf of the Government and people of Antigua and Barbuda has expressed his condolences to the family of the former Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) elected representative.
The Honorable Eustace Cochrane, the Prime Minister has remarked, is an outstanding public servant who brought to governance his many years of experience in the private sector.
According to a release from the government, Cochrane had been an executive of British West Indian Airways (BWIA) and was actually encouraged to join LIAT during a period when it was a very profitable carrier, privately owned.
He was a good manager of resources and very thorough in his leadership, the Head of Government concluded.
“The Honorable Eustace Cochrane has served his country well and deserves to be so recognized by the government and people whom he honorably represented,” Prime Minister Gaston Browne remarked.
Government officials have been asked to be in touch with the Cochrane family. The Prime Minister is currently out-of-state with his family on a private trip. He returns to Antigua in two weeks.
The Honorable Steadroy Benjamin has been appointed to act as Prime Minister during the absence of the Honorable Gaston Browne.
