The Government has awarded scholarships to seventeen young Antiguans and Barbudans to peruse studies at the Caribbean Maritime Institute in Jamaica.

Prime Minister Gaston Browne confirmed the news on Wednesday during a Press conference at his Office.

PM Browne said that this is an opportunity which will develop the skills of these young individuals while potentially providing the country with well trained personnel to maintain the already high standard of the Antigua Port Authority.

The nation’s leader while congratulating the 17 scholarship recipients said he hopes that each individual will continue to show their commitment to the twin island state.
