At least one person of interest is in custody, assisting lawmen in their investigations with the country’s latest homicide.
31 year old Tyrone “Yankie” Lewis was reportedly gunned down in the early hours of Sunday morning on Christian Street, Gray’s Farm.
Reports are that Lewis was alone at home when he heard a knock at the door around 4 am. Upon opening the door, the father of one was shot in the chest after the assailant or assailants opened fire.
He reportedly collapsed and was rushed to the Mount St. John’s Medical Centre where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing surgery.
Whether or not any other suspect was taken in by the police for questioning has not been revealed.
Meantime, the Police are appealing to anyone with information regarding the shooting to contact the nearest Police station or call Crime Stoppers at 800- Tips.
This latest homicide brings the country’s total for 2016 to 3.
