Government to secure equipment to reduce house fires

In light of the recent fires that have been affecting families the Government has taken on the initiative to secure 25,000 smoke detectors and alarms to be distributed freely to residents.

Health Minister Molwyn Joseph confirmed the news while speaking in Parliament on Tuesday.

Additionally the Health Minster announced that plans are being put in place to establish a burn center at the Mount St John’s Medical Center.

He said that discussions have already begun with the Government of Martinique who will also assist with the training of nurses and medical personnel.

Minister Joseph said that these additions will play a major role in reducing the amount of house fires within the country.
