The United Progressive Party has called on the Education Minister Michael Browne to step down from his position.
This was one of the calls made by the UPP during a protest action staged outside the Ministry of Education this morning.
UPP’s PRO Senator Demarny Tabor spoke to ZDK news following the Picket. He said that it was a reasonable call as according to Tabor the Minister has failed to carry out his duties effectively.
Tabor also indicated that the event was well attended by not only UPP supporters but by residents who are displeased with the government’s decision to convert the Five Islands Secondary School to the University of the Antigua and Barbuda.
Tabor said that both the Secondary and Tertiary Institutions could be established without re-purposing the Five Islands Facility which was originally intended for a Secondary school.
