Over a hundred residents have already been screened as day one of the inaugural Eye Care Screenings on the sister island is completed.
On Sunday a six member delegation arrived on Barbuda and begun screening individuals for the presence of Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, Cataracts and Ptygerium Fleshiness.
The team consists of members from the Mount Saint John’s Medical Centre and the CCB Eye Caribbean along with Nurses and Dr. Deazel from the Hanna Thomas Hospital in Barbuda
The Clinic runs from Monday, October 3 – Thursday, October 6th 2016. Individuals are invited to contact Matron Byes, at 562-7092 or 772-6718 for pre-registration.
The inaugural Eye Care Screening is an initiative of the Ministry of Health and the Environment in collaboration with the Barbuda Council and the Caribbean Council for the Blind (CCB).
