National Hero opposes age limit to be awarded National Honors

Cricketing Legend and National Hero Sir Vivian Richards has expressed contrasting views on the restriction of National Heroes below the age of 50 years.

According to Sir Richards he sees no problem with recognizing individuals below the age of 50 who have made significant contributions to the country.

His comments comes after Chairman of the Antigua and Barbuda Reparations Supports Commission Dobrene O’Marde strongly supported the minimum age which is currently 50 years and older cautioning the designation of younger awardees.

Former Prime Minister and National Hero Sir Lester Bird also shared similar sentiment highlighting the fact that making a contribution should not be the only requirement for receiving a National award.
