A ramp attendant at the V.C Bird International Airport has been nabbed with thousands worth of drugs.
The bust was made by the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP) during another counter-drug operation on Wednesday in the parking lot of the Mount St. John’s Medical Center.
Antiguan national Samuel Friths, employed by Caribbean Airport Services (CAS) was nabbed with 156lbs of cannabis.
He was charged with Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Transfer, Being Concerned in the Supply of Cannabis and Drug Trafficking.
The drug, which is believed to originate from Jamaica, carries an estimated wholesale value of Six Hundred and Twenty-Four Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($624,000.00 XCD).
He is expected to appear in the St. John’s Magistrate Court today Wednesday, 30th November.
