40 year old Seth Clark of Bathlodge is currently nursing multiple gunshot wounds he sustained during a confrontation with the police in the early hours of Wednesday 16th November.
Police officers attached to Rapid Response Unit were on mobile patrol in Ottos, in the vicinity of Antigua Home and Garden Supplies, when they spotted a man in dark clothing with a bag acting suspiciously. When the police approached him, he fled the area and ran into some nearby bushes.
The police gave chase, and in attempts to apprehend him, he attacked the police with a cutlass. He was shot in the process and was taken to the Mount St John’s Medical Centre, with wounds to his left hand and left hip. His injuries are none life-threatening and his condition is said to be stable.
The police have since recovered the cutlass from the scene along with a black bag containing a 15 inch blade knife, female underwear; newspaper clippings headlined “Police Nab Masked Man”, sketched drawings depicting sexual intent, handwritten documents, and pornographic pictures, among other items.
Clarke had a similar encounter with the Police last year, when he attacked the police in Grays Farm with a cutlass. They were at the time responding to a report, where a masked man was spotted in the area.
He was found with condoms, pornographic pictures, among other items in his possession. He is well-known to the Court, having served time at Her Majesty’s Prison on numerous charges of House Breaking, Larceny and other related offences.
Recently, the police have been dealing with several reports of House Breaking and Larceny within the Golden Grove, Bathlodge, Cashew Hill, and other surrounding areas. The Police Administration has since implemented several strategic, counteractive, and anti-crime fighting measures to address the situation.
Residents within these areas, however, are still called upon to heighten their security awareness, especially when it comes to securing their homes and properties at nights.
