The Antigua Girls High School has benefited from CIBC First Caribbean’s International bank’s Adopt-a-Cause programme with the donation of a much needed photocopier to the institution.
Adopt-A-Cause is a CIBC First Caribbean Bank programme which enables the bank to support worthy projects within the community, while encouraging staff to volunteer their time in order to make the projects successful.
The bank’s High Street branch conducted a needs assessment on the institution and a number of areas were identified for assistance. However, the school identified that there was urgent need for a quality photocopier at this time.
Manager of the two CIBC branches in Antigua and Barbuda Dawn Soleyn said “Adopt-a-Cause encourages employees to become involved – to volunteer our time – to give back to our community. “We enjoy and appreciate the interaction, says Dawn Soleyn.”Acting Principal, Rody
Christopher accepted the copies and thanked the bank for so quickly responding to the school’s urgent request.
Over the years the bank has been involved in a variety of charitable and community based projects including the T.N. Kirnon School, the St. John’s Hospice, Clarevue Psychiatric Hospital, Ottos Comprehensive School, Buckleys Primary School, and the Victory Centre. The Dyslexia Awareness Centre and five single-parent families have also benefited from this initiative.
