Three Arrested on Suspicion of Money Laundering

Three men have been arrested and are now in police custody assisting the police in an alleged Money Laundering Investigation.

George “DFowl” Mason, of Coolidge, Dave “David” Warner of Sir Vivian Richards Street and Bevon Francis of Liberta were arrested by the police over the weekend, during a “Sting Operation, which turned up almost US$75,000.

According to a Stratcom release, Police Officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department were on mobile patrol on Friday, when they came across a motor jeep, A44142 in the vicinity of the Seventh Day Adventist School with the occupants inside acting suspicious.

The police trailed the vehicle first to Little Canton Supermarket on Independence Drive, where it stopped briefly, and then to an area in St. Johnston’s Village.

The release said that a search was conducted on the men and the vehicle, and a brown ladies bag was found, wrapped in a black plastic with US$74,760 hidden inside the vehicle.
The money was seized, and all three men were arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of Money Laundering.

The Police Financial Investigations Unit, headed by Sergeant Donald Sheckle has taken over the investigations to determine the origin of the money, among other things.
