Today Antigua and Barbuda welcomed the inaugural visit of the TUI Discovery, (formally known as Thomson Discovery) a new addition to the Thomson Cruises fleet.
Speaking at the Inaugural berthing of the vessel was the President of the Antigua & Barbuda Cruise Tourism Association Nathan Dundas who welcomed the passengers and crew to the country’s shores.
The vessel brings approximately 1800 passengers and about 860 cruise member to island.
Meantime CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, Colin James said the 2016/2017 season for cruise tourism has been quite favorable especially due to the redevelopment of the St John’s Harbour and the expansion of the Heritage Quay pier.
James said he is also quite pleased when it comes to air arrivals as the country has seen a 9 percent increase compared to last year especially from our north American market
