Civil Servants to receive concessions on Government constructed Homes

The Government will be offering concessions to Civil Servants, to include Police Officers and Nurses who purchase houses constructed by the National Housing and Urban Renewal Company.

The concession which was approved by Cabinet on Wednesday will see a discount valued at $10,000 offered to public servants.

According to Cabinet notes although it will not be a cash award, the value will cause a reduction in the mortgaged amount which the public servant would contract with their bank.

Telecommunication Minister Melford Nicholas who confirmed the news during this week’s Cabinet briefing held this morning said the initiative is a means of incentivizing the public servants whose incomes are limited.
