Government to meet remaining seven million dollar obligation to LIAT

The Government of Antigua and Barbuda says it will be fulfilling an EC$7,000,000 (seven million dollars) obligation to regional Air carrier LIAT before the end of January.

In early November the Government heard that it is required to pay a total of $8 million EC dollars to LIAT based on the country’s ownership share in hopes of recovering the cash strapped airline.

Assuring the government’s commitment to its obligation by the January 31st deadline was the Minister responsible for Telecommunications the Hon Melford Nicholas.
