Medical Director at the Mount St John’s Medical Center Dr Albert Duncan is optimistic that he will be able to further improve services at the hospital with hopes of it translating into an increase in countries from around the region accessing care here in Antigua.
Dr Duncan who was speaking during an interview this morning said he has already accomplished quite a bit at the country’s lone health care facility to include an improvement in the long waiting period and the introduction of several programs.
He said that the plan is to do more to improve services with hopes of medical tourism being an option for Antigua and Barbuda.
According to the Medical Director, Mount St John’s being the only hospital on the island should be at a standard where even high profile individuals should be able to access care.
His comments comes after the country recorded its first successful Kidney Transplant on Monday with a second transplant conducted on Tuesday making the country the first in the Eastern Caribbean to have completed the procedure.
