A new airport is coming to Barbuda at an estimated cost of fourteen million United States dollars. (US$14,000,000) That is the word of the Governor General Sir Rodney Williams who made the announcement during the 2017 Throne Speech on Monday.
He said that the government agreed that a new Barbuda airport will be a profit center which will include a longer runway and air terminal.
According to Sir Rodney, this is in an effort to facilitate the arrival of investors who will be constructing two new luxury hotels, condominiums and mansions on the south coast of Barbuda beginning this year.
“My Government has determine that building a new longer runway and air terminal on Barbuda is a high high importance, and all indications are that a new Barbuda airport will be a profit center” he said.
