A teacher at the Clare Hall Secondary School has been arrested and charged for wounding a fourteen (14) year old student.
According to Senior Sargeant Frankie Thomas who spoke to ZDK news on Thursday, 26 year old Vendiz Charles of Potters is charged with attempted murder after he allegedly struck a second form student in his head with a stone.
Details surrounding the incident remains sketchy however ZDK news understands that the student was hit unintentionally.
The student is currently in the intensive Care Unit at the Mount St John’s Medical Centre with a fractured brain. Doctor’s reports indicate that the teen is also experiencing internal bleeding and may likely have to be flown abroad for treatment.
The teacher is currently on remand at the St John’s Police Station until Monday when he will make his first appearance before the court.
