The Minister of Social Transformation and Human Resource Development Hon Samantha Marshall says the Ministry will be moving forward with the introduction of a “Vagrancy Control Program” designed to tackle the problem of homelessness in our society.
Minister Marshall was speaking during the 2017 budget debate on Thursday.
She said that the programme will offer housing, counseling as well as nutrition, hygiene needs and medical treatment to those who need it.
The Social Transformation Minister said that as part of the programme a facility will also be established which will enable the provision of daily meals.
The establishment of a Vagrancy Control Program is one of the many campaign promises by the Gaston Browne administration in 2014.
