In celebration of his 50th birthday today, Prime Minister Gaston Browne has recommitted himself to performing the work of the people of Antigua and Barbuda.
The Prime Minister, who was speaking on ZDK’s Open Forum on Thursday, indicated that at present he has one purpose, to server and to empower the residents of the country.
“On this my 50th birthday I use this opportunity to recommit all Antiguans and Barbudans and to be assured that I have one single purpose and that is to serve and to empower the people of Antigua and Barbuda,” he said.
The nation’s leader said he was overwhelmed with the number of well-wishes he has been receiving since Sunday and noted that the love is reciprocal.
“I have to tell that I feel very loved and I just want the people of Antigua and Barbuda to know that that love is reciprocal and that someone who has literally achieved all of his career aspiration, the only aspiration I have now and going forward is to work unrelentingly for the people of Antigua and Barbuda as we seek to transform the country into the economic powerhouse in the entire Caribbean,” the PM stated.
The Prime Minister commenced his birth-week celebrations on Sunday at the Wesleyan Holiness Church, a church he has been attending for his entire life where he made a donation of $50, 000 from savings from his salary as Prime Minister towards the work of the Church.
He was joined by his wife and two of his children, sister, Cabinet colleagues and other close friends.
