With hopes of reaching the younger generation within Antigua and Barbuda, the Social Transformation Minister the Hon Samantha Marshall will be embarking on a merger between the Departments of Gender and Youth Affairs.
Minister Marshall who was speaking during the 2017 budget debate on Thursday said that the merger will create a more modern department that that will educate the youth in our contemporary society.
She said it will also enable the ministry to carry out its mandate while reaching its target audience.
According to the Social Transformation Minister, a merger will also take place between the community development division and the local government in an effort to promote more community interaction.
She said that both mergers form part of a re branding campaign currently being undertaken within the Social Transformation Ministry.
