The 2017 Mango Pineapple Culinary Competition has received an overwhelming response. This is according to officials from the Antigua and Barbuda Ministry of Tourism.
According to release, the Tourism Ministry received over thirty entries into the competition from Chefs interested in showcasing their culinary skills, with the 2016 Winner, Naomi Thomas, returning to defend her crown.
The release notes that the interest of the chefs within Antigua and Barbuda to participate in a competition of this nature, speaks volumes to the quality of the event, and also signals that culinary arts competitions are regaining their popularity in the destination.
The renewed interest in the competition, has also prompted the organizers to add an additional heat, within the ‘Seafood’ category, which allowed for more chefs to participate.
The competition is slated for July 1st and begins at 9am. The Competition ends at 3:00 p.m. with the Closing Ceremony and Awards Presentation by Tourism Officials at 4:00 p.m.
