Clarevue Psychiatric Hospital was the centre of attention on Monday, July 17th as patients at the Mental Health Institution became the recipients of a major donation by the Jumby Bay Fund.
In a major show of support, executive members of the Jumby Bay Group handed over a number of items to the Management and Staff of Clarevue, a contribution valued at over two thousand US Dollars.
Speaking at the function, Director for the Jumby Bay Fund Patty Schear said that they were propelled to give to the Clarevue Hospital because the institution fits right into the organization’s field of projects.
In accepting the items, Acting Superintendent at Clarevue, Candine Roberts said that her department is indeed appreciative of the effort which will go a long way in the rehabilitation of the patients.
Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and the Environment, Ena Dalso-Henry described the gesture as one that is in keeping with the mission of her Ministry, which is to provide nothing but the best quality of life for the residents at Clarevue.
The wish list of items donated were pillows, sheets, yoga mats, adult coloring books, paints, basketball hoops, artistic paint brushes, drawing boards, exercise books, reading materials, among others.
