The Pineapple Beach Club Antigua is currently working with local authorities to find the individual responsible for a bomb threat which led to the evacuation of the hotel’ staff and guests.
On Thursday morning, an anonymous caller telephoned in a bomb threat to front desk personnel at the resort which led to the involvement of police officers attached to the Willikies Police Station.
The hotels’ management says that after a complete evacuation of the premises, the police authorities conducted a thorough search of the property which fortunately concluded with nothing out of the ordinary being found.
The resort suspects the call was made by a disgruntled former employee or contract worker and was conclusively determined to be a hoax.
The resort’s security team has also confirmed that no unauthorized persons have been seen or reported on the resort property, and normal operations have since resumed. They said that there were no other issues, concerns, or injuries of any kind.
“This was a cowardly and misguided attempt to disrupt the resort’s business, and the resort is fully cooperating with local authorities in an attempt to identify the suspect,” a release from the hotel disclosed.
