ABEC changes CCJ ballot question

The Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC) has amended the ballot question that will be asked for the November 6th referendum.

Supervisor of Election, Lorna Simon says the decision was made following complaints about the clarity of the ballot question.

The question now reads;

Do you approve the Constitution Amendment Bill 2018, which is a bill for an act to alter the Constitution of Antigua and Barbuda to terminate Her Majesty in Council (also known as the Privy Council) as the final court of appeal for Antigua and Barbuda and to replace it with the Caribbean Court of Justice (also known as the CCJ)?

ABEC has also issued a draft specimen of the ballot paper for the public’s viewing.
